Acclaimed saxophonist, MarQuis Hunt, is curating and hosting the month-long Sessions "Jazz in July All-Stars" series at South on Main each Wednesday in July.
This series features five performances by the area’s stars in the field of jazz with such notable artists as MarQuis & MOOD, the Ted Ludwig Trio, John Bush, Cameron Ross, Timothy Woods and many other special guests. The five performances are very different and each offers a unique variety of jazz. True jazz fans will not want to miss the opportunity to attend the entire series.
The shows begin at 8 PM. Tickets are $10 at the door. The online ticket is an RVSP, only. The venue does not have advance admission tickets for this event. Cameron Ross Biography
Cameron comes from a heritage deeply rooted in God and music. As a child, he always knew that he had a place in music, but didn't know exactly where. That all changed when he discovered the saxophone and he has been soaring since. Currently, Cameron is staying busy by touring and also teaching music. Music has taken him all across the country and even into Canada to perform. He has performed and shared the stage with artists such as Kirk Whalum, J. Moss, Nick Colionne, Althea Rene, Karen Clark, Ty Tribbett, Ben Tankard, and many others. Cameron has been called to perform the National Anthem twice for the Memphis Grizzlies and has performed on several television stations such as TBN and The Bobby Jones Gospel Show.
Musical Style
Soothing and soulful are the words used to describe Cameron's music. Cameron performs a large range of music from smooth jazz, straight ahead jazz, soul, and gospel. His goal is to provide great music that uplifts and inspires the listener.
