Downtown Little Rock Partnership is hosting the 4th Annual Barkus on Main, a Mardi Gras-themed dog parade. Presented by Hounds Lounge Pet Resort and Spa, this free and family friendly event will take place Sunday, April 10 on Main Street, along the Creative Corridor in downtown Little Rock from noon to 5 p.m.

The 4th annual Barkus On Main Mardi Gras dog parade and block party is excited to welcome back our favorite parading pups!

The event kicks off at NOON and will feature lively music, a beer garden and hurricane station, gumbo, crawfish boil, plenty of beads, and of course the Mardi Gras dog parade! This year we will host a trick competition and costume contest as well.

Be sure to sign up to walk in the parade! Those pups that register for the parade will also be eligible for prizes in nine prize categories. The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 7th and Main Streets and travel north up Main to 4th Street.

After the 30-minute parade, join a Mardi Gras Block Party in progress in the 300 and 400 block hosted by Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Hounds Lounge Pet Resort & Spa, Brewski’s Pub & Grub, and CJRW. In addition to music, food and beverage may be purchased at the party. Exhibitor booths will also be set up as well.

This year we are pleased to be partnering with the Little Rock Animal Village (LRAV) and Friends of the Village. All person's attending the event are invited to bring a item or two from the LRAV 'wish list' to donate. Donations can be dropped off at the registration table. You may also easily donate $5 when you register that will go directly to LRAV. Thank you in advance for helping!

Parade pre-registration for one dog is $20.00.

On the day of the event, the first 150 dogs to check in will receive a complimentary Wag Bag. All registered dogs will be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Best Pet/Owner Look a-like Costumes, Best Small Dog Costume, Best Large Dog Costume, Most Original Costume, Best Float, Judge’s Choice, Best Trick and Tricentennial Treat. The cost to register your pet the day of the event is $25.
