Downtown Little Rock Partnership is hosting the 5th Annual Barkus on Main, a Mardi Gras-themed dog parade. Presented by Hounds Lounge Pet Resort and Spa, this free and family friendly event will take place Sunday, April 16th on Main Street, along the Creative Corridor in downtown Little Rock from noon to 5 p.m.
The 5th annual Barkus on Main Mardi Gras dog parade and block party is excited to welcome back our favorite parading pups!
The event kicks off at NOON and will feature lively music, a beer garden and hurricane station, gumbo, crawfish boil, plenty of beads, food trucks and of course the Mardi Gras dog parade and costume contest!
Be sure to sign up to walk in the parade! Pups that register for the parade will also be eligible for prizes in eight prize categories. The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 6th and Main Streets and travel north up Main to 4th Street.
After the parade, join a Mardi Gras Block Party in the 300 and 400 block hosted by Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Hounds Lounge Pet Resort & Spa, Brewski’s Pub & Grub, and CJRW.
This year we are pleased to partner with a local pet non-profit. All humans attending the event are invited to bring an item or two to donate. Donations can be dropped off at the registration table. You may easily donate $5 when you register that will go directly to the non-profit. Thank you in advance for helping!
Parade pre-registration for one dog is $25.00. $40 for 2 dogs.
On the day of the event, the first 75 dogs are guaranteed to receive a complimentary Wag Bag. All registered dogs will be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Best Pet/Owner Look a-like Costumes, Best Small Dog Costume, Best Large Dog Costume, Most Original Costume, Best Float, Judge’s Choice, and King & Queen.
