A 1985 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Architecture. Worked at Blass Chilcote Carter Lanford & Wilcox, Wellborn Henderson and the Wilcox Group before starting Hurd Long Architects in 1994 with Wayne Long, AIA.
Self-taught woodworking skills were a plus after the purchase of a 1913 American foursquare in Conway in 1992. As the second owner, preserving the home is a fulfilling venture with the restoration of most of the original double hung windows playing a major part. The woodworking knowledge and the love of designing and making things has led to the creation of many original art pieces. One of which is in the permanent collection of the Arkansas Arts Center. Several pieces are also available at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art’s museum store.
