Join our new Playwriting class for Adults!
This course will explore creating a script, developing compelling characters, and writing dialogue. As the fundamental component of theatre, film, and television--playwriting is critical. How does a writer create a memorable character? How do you know what to edit? How do you start writing? Enhance your creative writing skills in a workshop setting with others!
This course is open to adults, 18 and up! Participants will be able to hear their scripts read out loud during the final class session in a reading with actors.
The instructor for the course is Shelby-Allison Hibbs. Hibbs is the Executive Director at The Studio Theatre and previously taught playwriting, acting, and directing at The University of Texas at Dallas. She participated in the Dallas Playwright's Workshop with Dallas Theater Center and has won awards for her playwriting work. She has also devised plays with UT Dallas and Cry Havoc Theatre.
