Downtown Little Rock Partnership is hosting the 6th Annual Barkus on Main, a Mardi Gras-themed dog parade. Presented by Hounds Lounge Pet Resort and Spa, this free and family friendly event will take place Sunday, April 7th on Main Street, along the Creative Corridor in downtown Little Rock from noon to 5 p.m.

Downtown Little Rock Partnership is hosting the 6th Annual Barkus on Main, a Mardi Gras-themed dog parade. Presented by Hounds Lounge Pet Resort and Spa, this free and family friendly event will take place eclipse weekend, Sunday, April 7th on Main Street, along the Creative Corridor in downtown Little Rock from noon to 5 p.m.

The 6th annual Barkus on Main Mardi Gras dog parade and block party is excited to welcome back our favorite parading pups! The event kicks off at NOON and will feature Dikki Du & the Zydeco Krewe, an authentic Zydeco Band from southern Louisiana. You can wet your whistle at the Barkus beer garden and hurricane station, chow down at Brewski’s Crawfish Boil or at any one of the dozen food trucks on site. There will be plenty of pet vendors offering tail-waggin' products, beads galore, and of course, the Mardi Gras dog parade and costume contest! This year we are excited to welcome back the Kid’s Zone and the Diving Dock Dogs from the Super Retriever Series. They will host an exhibition and competition you’ll not want to miss!

Barkus is free to attend, however; be sure to register to strut your furry furriend in the parade! Pups that pre-register for the parade will also be eligible for prizes in eight prize categories AS WELL AS receive a Barkus Wag Bag loaded with an assortment of goodies! The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 6th and Main Streets and travel north up Main to 4th Street.

After the parade, join a Mardi Gras Block Party in the 300 and 400 block hosted by Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Hounds Lounge Pet Resort & Spa, Brewski’s Pub & Grub, and CJRW. This year we are pleased to partner with a local pet non-profit, Little Rock Animal Village. You may easily donate $5 when you register that will go directly to the non-profit. Parade pre-registration for one dog is $25.00. $40 for 2 dogs.

On the day of the event, the first 100 dogs are guaranteed to receive a complimentary Wag Bag. All registered dogs will be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Best Pet/Owner Look a-like Costumes, Best Small Dog Costume, Best Large Dog Costume, Most Original Costume, Best Float, Judge’s Choice, and King & Queen. The cost to register your pet the day of the event is $25 for one pup and $40 for two pups.
